B. Smith was a celebrated author, model, businesswoman, restaurateur and in the forefront of black women who helped break barriers for women of color in all areas of society. I posted an article when she and her husband wrote a book about their struggle with her diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer's disease; 'Before I Forget'. It is public knowledge on how her husband chose to handle this daunting disease and their life together...years after writing the book and much of it was controversial, however, let us celebrate her life well-lived before she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
