I'm not a fan of "The Help". I respect the talents of Ms. Davis although her viewpoint about the film as it related to her role and that time period is suspect. On a less political and more cultural level...I must give props to her husband, Julius Tennon who encouraged her to drop the wig. His quote, according to his wife is.. 'If you want to wear it for your career, that's fine, but in your life wear your hair. Step into who you are!' Bravo to both of themfor I'm sure the black blogosphere will have a lot to say about it and expect some cruel and disrespectful assessments of her appearance.
Mr. Tennon and the incomparable Maestro Barry White summed it up well. Enough said!
I totally agree. I respect beauty in all our ethnic groups for I believe that there is only one human race. I, also don't think there is just one beauty standard or a hierarchy or pyramid paradigm of it.
To use the flower example for I've worn the fruit example out. There are different types, each beautiful in its uniqueness and adds to a stunning bouquet.
Unfortunately, I've had to remove a comment for it was so hurtful and mean!

She looks great! The hair color complements her skin beautifully and the dress is stunning on her.
